Our History
Lying on the banks of the River Deben, the town of Woodbridge is well known for its connections with sailing and many associated occupations and pastimes. With its 1,400 years of recorded history, It also possesses an interesting variety of historical architecture. The Gobbitt & Kirby office in Woodbridge stands on a prime site in The Thoroughfare, In the heart of the town centre. Estate Agents since 1989, but originally family grocers established in this very building in 1817 by Messrs. Gobbitt & Kirby, this is one of the oldest and well respected

business names in Woodbridge. Although no longer In the same family, the professional standards set by our predecessors are still very much in evidence today.

In 2004 we opened our office in Well Close Square in the historic market town of Framlingham. The town is situated in the heart of the picturesque Suffolk countryside, a short distance off the B1120 tourist route and within easy reach of the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Renowned for its Medievel Castle and architecture of the Framlingham College Public School, Framlingham is a popular tourist destination, but also has a thriving residential community. Although the office is no longer open, through our association in the area after so many years, we are pleased to continue our service to discerning clients through our Country Homes department.

Working closely together, our offices deal with country properties through to town houses, from period to new build, In all price ranges, In Woodbridge and Framlingham, the surrounding villages, and the Heritage coastline.
